Human mind is always fascinated by the mysteries of the unknown. Many experts have rightly pointed out that India is not only beautiful but also deliciously mysterious as it beholds the stories and secrets of a lot of kings, their palaces, their treasures and so on. There are many forts, beaches, palaces in India that have witnessed painful death. Which is why they bear a twist of mystery. 1. Bhangarh Fort

Bhangarh being one of the scariest and spookiest places in India is considered by many as the ghost town of India. Located near a popular forest this town is now attracting visitors from around the country for the reasons that are not very right. After sunset visitors are strictly prohibited from entering this place.

Popularly known to be a deserted ghost village, Kuldhara has been abandoned since 1800. There is a saying that this village is cursed by villagers who vanished from there overnight after living for 7 centuries.

Located very near to Surat, this beach is believed to be used as a Hindu burial ground for long. This place is not for faint hearted people. If you take a midnight stroll along the beach you will realise this by yourself.

Many ghost stories shroud one of the particular wells in Chawl and it is considered to be haunted. Many have sighted a white apparition. The popular story is related to a lady who while filling water from the well, fell into the well and died. This residents of the chawl believe that the ‘ lady of the well’ haunts the area surrounding the well every night.

This fort, known for its brilliant architecture is considered as one of the most haunted places in India. Many have witnessed various spooky occurrence here. Popular story is related to the murder of a young prince. It is believed that on every full moon night his spirit haunts this place.

One of the most famous housing societies in Thane The Vrindavan Society is also popularly known for its paranormal activities. There are many night watchers and residents who are said to have experienced bewildering and strange activities. However, the society doesn’t look like haunted as it is beautifully constructed.

The unexplained phenomena of bird suicide of this place has made this place famous worldwide. Most of the migratory birds visiting this area are found dead for no reason on the streets. Many scientific theories have been put forward but none of these theories could prove anything.

This huge forest area spreading over around 10kms have reported paranormal activities. Many has seen a lady dressed in white saree disappearing all of a sudden around the cremation ground near that area. This place is considered as the most haunted place in Delhi.

12. Dow Hill in Kurseong – Darjeeling

Dow hill boarding school for girls is one of the centres of paranormal activities in Darjeeling. Many has reported ghost sightings. Also, the forest surrounding the school is considered by many as haunted.

13. The Brij Raj Bhavan Palace in Kota – Rajasthan

The old palace which has been converted into a heritage hotel is considered to be haunted by the British ghost. During revolt of 1857 Major Burton was killed inside this palace and his spirit is said to have haunt this place.

National library apart from rich collection of books is also known for its ghost stories. The guards don’t want to take night shifts. There is a popular saying that the footsteps of the Governor’s wife can be heard during the night.
