b. Day – 2. Trekking to deoriatal.
This is the first initial point where your trekking journey starts off. At first, you will experience a smooth mix of ascent and decent which will make you reach the chandrashila summit along with the tunganath temple which bursts out with color. But then once this is visible, the real journey begins with a steep incline towards the top which id the back of the mountain. Soon when you can think the trek is over, the trip gets laborious and also can make you very tired. But before you know it, you are greeted by the forest departments resting stop. This is the place where you can take a break and its very short for only 20 mins. The view from here is fantastic and will make you fall in love with the place.
After you rest yourself for that short span of time, the journey gets a bit tedious, and you enter the region of rhododendrons which surrounds you throughout for 20 mins or so. This particular area in spring is the best thing you would have ever seen in your life because it happens to be lustfully attractive and just fantastic. But moving further ahead at 7,343 ft, the very sight of any village vanishes from view and you are then greeted with the waters of deoriatal while you can witness the water just glistening in front of you.
When you are at this place, make sure to explore the chaukhamba massifs that are just on the backdrop of the lake. It would be mid-noon by the time you reach this place and make it a point to explore this place correctly. But wait for a couple of hours where the clouds disperse themselves and make themselves scares, and the ray of sunlight glistens on the water and makes the entire sight a picture to never forget. Bird lovers are never going to ignore this region as you can find various kind of species that can give you the thrill of your lifetime. After a good night rest, the next starts off with an extensive trekking stretch through the chaukhamba massif and the kedar mountain summit. But as you get there, you can witness the rhododendron and maple forest through which you have to pass. The forest thickens giving you red and pink varieties of the rhododendrons as you move by the forest. But then as you are caught by the trees, you can see that there are yellow flags tied up and greenness of the entire pathway.
After you escape the tranquility of the forest, you then ascend down towards Rohini bagyal and chopta. But then once you start the mount, the trekking surface might get tougher and steep uphill climbs makes it rigorous enough to continue further. But then once you clear all of this, you can have your treat to witness the view of chandrashila on the other side of the forest margin. But as you escape this, you are then again greeted by forests filled with oak trees and ample trees. But then if you are lucky enough then amidst all the greenery you can witness the sighting of the red fox and other small wildlife. All of this makes up the Kedarnath wildlife sanctuary.

One goes to the village of sari, another to ukhimath and the other disappears into the meadows of Rohini bugyal. Along the line, you can find the bisuri tal lake and a tarn called nandikund at the base of kala parvat. As you trek a bit further, you happen to see a cluster of huts. Also, you can see locals coming up the way to graze their livestock. But then as you go through the village, we get a trail that happens to go into the forest, and amidst the forest, there is a precise spot which would be your next campsite.

But then at this very point, you are entering the tungnath temple which has a splendid overview of the chandrashila peak which is at 12,083 ft. The entire route takes a steep turn back from behind the temple. But then December till April happens to be filled with thick snow, thus making it a bit more difficult for you to trek. Its advised to take ice axes to get through the steepness of mountain ranges and reach the destination. Especially the region is covered with ice sludge that makes equally slippery and dangerous.
But then once you are at the top, then the view is nothing like you have ever seen. A 360-degree view of Garhwal and Kumaon mountain ranges that happens to be the lying just ahead of you. Other noticeable mountain ranges are kedar, chaukhamba, and others. But then glimpses of Gangotri and thalaysagar ranges can be seen and made out from the edges.
