Day-1 : Arrival and trek starts from Bhagsu Nag-Triund(2875 m) at 9 AM
Our representative will pick you up from McLeodganj and transfer to Bhagsu Nag which is the starting point of the trek.The camp will be ready by 8 am.You have to report to Bhagsu Nag camp by 9 am.We will start walking from Bhagsu Nag. Walking through the dense forests of Oak,Rhododendron and deodar is an ethereal experience.Triund is an alpine medow overlooking the snow capped peaks of Dhauladhar. The other side you can see the breathtaking view of the Kangra Valley. After dinner and star gazing at the beautiful mountain lodge we will rest for the night.
Day-2 : Triund to Bhagsu Nag
Wake up early to see the sunrise through the might mountains and the beautiful Kangra Valley.After having breakfast we will start walking downhill.It will take 4 to 5 hours to reach Bhagsu Nag village.We will come across Bhagsu Waterfall.The trek will end here and we will arrange your transport to McLeodganj.
How to reach Triund from Delhi?
The trek to Triund commences at Dharamshala which makes this place the base camp for the trek. If you are choosing roadways to reach Dharamshala, then we would suggest you take a bus from New Delhi or Pathankot; these two routes are safer, easy to navigate and would cost you less. The nearest railway station is the Pathankot Railway station lying 85 km from Dharamshala. Other options for the railways include - Jassur station and Nagrota station. If you are choosing airways then board a flight to Gaggal Airport (also known as Kangra Airport). Further, take a cab till Gaggal market and turn left for Dharamshala. We would strongly recommend you to opt for a bus or a train journey so that you treat your eyes with the beautiful scenery along the way.
What is the best Time for Triund Trek?
It is always a good time to take this trip. The weather is pleasant and pleasing throughout the year in Dharamshala as well as it is in Triund. The winter months are calm and peaceful but because of the snowfall, the difficulty level of the trek increases and also the climate becomes unbearably harsh. So, the months between March to June are more suitable for taking a trek and otherwise since the weather is also in your favour being neither too cold nor too warm. This is the best season to relax and sunbathe as the nights are not very chilled and the days are just perfectly hot. Just carry light woollens and you will be good to go!
