Day 01: Arrival at Bhandardara & camping
Arrive at Bhandardara by noon. You can reach Kasara and then take local transport (state transport bus or shared Autorickshaw/ Cab) to reach Bhandardara. Our representive will be waiting for you at Bhandardara. Move on to the island camping site which will already be prepared so that you need not do anything. A small boat ride will take you to the island. The island is a small, pristine, beautiful piece of hightened land surrounded by water and out of reach for people generally.Have lunch and rest till evening. Enjoy the sunset from the campsite or go to an elevated land. After sunset we will organize Bonfire for you. Enjoy the bounty of tiny twinkling stars on the backdrop of deep dark sky while soking the warmth of Bonfire. Basic dinner will be served thereafter (as per availbility). Night stay at camp.
Day 02 : Forest walk and return journey
wake up in morning, freshen up. Take a stroll around campsite and you may go for a small walk if you wish along the forest trail. Come back to the campsite and have your breakfast. Post breakfast prepare for return journey to Kasara. Once everyone is ready start your return journey with a sweet memory.

How to Reach Bhandardara?

You can take a bus, taxi, train or a car till Bhandardara. If you planning a road trip then this hill station is 185 km from Mumbai, 161 km from Pune and 72 km from Nashik. If you coming from Mumbai, choose the NH3 followed by a right turn at Ghoti toll post; prefer to NH50 if you are starting from Pune. You can choose to board a flight to New Pune International Airport, take a cab and cover 79 km till this location. You can also book tickets for Mumbai International Airport from where the distance would be 177 km till Bhandardara. The nearest railway station is Lgatpuri which lies on the Mumbai-Nashik route and is 45 km from the hill station. If you have to travel within Bhandardara then transport buses and taxis are easily available.
Best time to visit Bhandardara?
Usually, the summer season witnesses most tourists but the monsoon and winter seasons are preferable for camping at Bhandardara. The months between June to March are the best period to visit this location, especially for camping and trekking purposes. The weather is calm and windy unlike in summers when it becomes too humid to handle. Between the months of July to September, this beautiful hill station experiences moderate rainfall making it even prettier than before adding to the greenery of the place. The months between October to February are the most favourable for camping since the place becomes really calm and quiet and can be a perfect getaway for a relaxing weekend. The temperature during winters is recorded as 10 degrees every year so do not forget to carry heavy woollens and warmers.
Things to do in Bhandardara?
Bhandardara is a package of amazing destinations within and near itself. There are a lot of places that you can check out after or before you have camped. To begin with, do visit the alluring Arthur Lake, a reservoir of the Wilson Dam which makes a great spot for leisure time and camping. While you are there, do take a view of the place from the Wilson Dam which stands 150m above sea level. When in Bhandardara, you cannot afford to miss visiting the Kalsubai peak which is the highest peak in Maharashtra. You can participate in treks to reach the peak. The Bhandardara hill station is a home to numerous waterfalls but two of the most famous are - Umbrella and Randha Falls. Also, do not forget to visit one of Shivaji’s most famous capture- The Ratangad Fort, located near the MTDC resort.
