Kodachadri is a peak covered with dense forests with an elevation of 1,343 metres (4406 feet)above sea level) in the Western Ghats located in the Shimoga District of Karnataka. It is declared as a natural heritage site by Government of Karnataka and is the tenth highest peak of Karnataka.
Pick up from Bangalore around 9:30 PM
We will reach the Coorg homestay at 06:30 AM and freshen up by 07:00 AM
After freshening up we will have breakfast at around 08:30 AM and have our lunch packed
We shall start the trek for Kodachadri at 09:30 AM and reach the peak by 02:00 PM and have our lunch
We will start for the descend by 02:30 PM and start for our homestay
By 6:30 PM we will reach the homestay and enjoy our tea
Campfire will be lit and we will enjoy it with dinner
Wake-up call at 07:30 AM and get ready
Breakfast will be served by 08:00 AM
By 09:00 AM we will checkout from the homestay and start our journey for Bangalore.We will visit the Nagara Fort whenn we are coming back to Bangalore

Day 0: Kodachadri trek from Bangalore travel
We will start the journey for the Kodachadri trek by the night with the designated pick up points. The travel from Bangalore to Kollur will be done along with a trek introduction and ice breaking session. The trekkers are advised to keep caution about food intake and we embark on a journey to a weekend trekking in the Western Ghats.
Day 1: Kodachadri trek via Hidlumane Falls
We will reach the home stay which is around 1km from the Kodachadri trek base area. The rooms in our home stay will be provided and the participants can freshen up. Freshly cooked breakfast will be provided and the participants can start their warm exercise by walking before the trek. The Kodachadri home stay will serve us packed lunch and we will start the trekking to Kodachadri summit from the Jeep stand and a road frequented by pilgrimage. The Kodachadri trail has trees along the path and you can see villages all along the route. The Kodachadri trek via Hidlumane Falls will lead through dense jungle while we approach the Falls. The trail will have lush green vegetation with water sources. The trail will get humid as we enter the forests and leaches will be encountered. The participants need to be careful for this part. The trek will open to a farm and a meadow and delicious food can be found here especially butter milk and other milk based beverages.
We will start from the backyard of the farm and then trek towards the Hidlumane Falls. The trail will be covered at an easy pace crossing several streams. The trail becomes steep with rocky terrain and then it will lead for the Hidlumane Falls.
The Hidlumane Falls consists of seven falls with a height of 60 metres.The Kodachadri trek via Hidlumane Falls starts and the trek route passes through dense forests. The group will be asked to stay close during the dense forest trek and there will be rock face perpendicular to the ground. The adventurous Kodachadri trek route then covers a steep rocky area through the jungle and here we will have packed lunch.
The route for the Kodachadri peak will lead to the Rajra Katta and you can have rest here with the sound of water. The trail will become inclined and then goes through the jeep road. The deep jungle cover can be seen and we are 4km from the Kodachadri Peak. The road then leads to Sri Mookambika Devi Temple located near the bungalow.
The Kodachadri peak is around 2 km from the Sri Mookambika Devi Temple and the trail will lead to two different areas. One will lead to the Ganesha Guha temple and the other straight trail leads to the Kodachadri Peak. The drop on the left of the trekking trail for the last leg keeps the adrenaline high. The place overlooks the Arabian Sea and we will witness the sunset from here. An ideal location for meditation as legend says the presence of Adi Shankaracharya.The temple of Mookambika in Kollar can be seen from a cave known as Chitramoola visible from the path near the peak.
We will come down before sunset and to the jeep point which is near the Sri Mookambika Devi Temple and start for the home stay. The Kodachadri trail jeep ride will be an adventurous ride through the rocky and steep terrain of the trail.
We will reach for the Kodachadri home stay and dinner will be served along with campfire.
Day-2: Sharavathy River visit and travel to Bangalore
We will start for Bangalore and on the way we will visit the Nagara Fort which is a 18th century fort. The fort is located near the Dam Linganamakki which on the Sharavathi River around the town of Nagar.Kayaking can also be arranged here if water level is favorable.
