About Spiti valley-

Spiti valley is one of the most beautiful Himalayan valley in the state of Himachal pradesh. With an altitude of 12500ft spiti valley gives you access to untouched Himalayan beauty. The rugged terrain. crystal clear blue sky, sprawling mountain meadows, small Himalayan villages and simple Himalayan lifestyle of the inhabitants of the Spiti valley villages will make you spellbound.

How to reach Spiti Valley from Manali or Shimla-

Spiti valley is not very easy to access from other parts of the country. You can reach to Spiti Valley by Road, Rail and Air. Though the best option being the road.

By Road:

From Manali via Kunzum la and Rohtang la (Pass) you can go to Kaza which is district headquarter of Lahaul-Spiti. The distance from Manali to Kaza is approx. 200km and will take minimum 6-8 hours by shared cab (MUV). Bus service is there which is not reliable as only one bus is there to ply daily between Kullu and Kaza. Bus may take 12-14 hours to cover 200km given the poor condition of the road. And also availability of seat is an issue. This route is usually only open June - October since the passes are quite high and get snowblocked easily

For spitivalley trek from Shimla, one can go to to Kaza via Reckong Peo. This road is supposedly open throughout the year. But the distance is 420km and road condition is again not good

 By Rail:

By Rail it is not possible to reach Kaza. One has to come to Shimla and then take roadways.

By Air:

Come to Bhuntar. From Bhuntar Manali is 2 hrs. drive and then from Manali to kaza for Spiti Valley tour.

Spiti valley home stay trek

A classic and truly enjoyed trek. An extraordinary trekking with local friends. Kibber, Komik, Demul all are very beautiful villages. Do not forget to carry good camera and extra batteries. Believe me, you will need it.

Spiti Valley Homestay Trek

It was a nice experience to go with Triphippie. Homestays were as per expectation and budget. Nice and comfortable and people were helpful. It would have been good if the Trek would have started in Lalung and ended at Langza in order to avoid the Altitude sickness due to sudden ascent. But overall it was great to experience the beautiful valley via Triphippie.
