About Nag Tibba Trek

Being the highest peak of the Nag Tibba range in the Garhwal Himalaya it gives a stunning Himalayan view along the trail. Though it is very near from Mussoorie, this trek is relatively unknown and takes you through the Himalayan rich connifer forest. It presents abosolutely mind boggling views of Kedarnath peaks, Bandarpoonch peak, the Gangotri group of peaks, along with Doon valley.

Nag tibba is a beautiful peak in Pantwari village of the state of Uttarakhand. It is situated in the North East of Mussourie. Nag tibba Trek is famous for its peak from where you can get an incredible view of the entire Bandarpoonch range along with Mussoorie. In Garhwal Himaalaya Nag Tibba, Pir Punjal and Dhauladhar - these three are the main Himalayan ridge

Nag Tibba winter trek is a beautiful snow trek but Nag Tbba trek alone or when coupled with Mussoorie trip depending upon your availability of time.

Reach Dehradun by 6 AM in morning on 1st Day. Start your drive by 8 AM. Please adhere to this time limit strictly otherwise for your lateness the group have to suffer and it will be a hectic trek.

You will return to Dehradun by 9:30 PM in evening on 2nd Day. So plan your return from Dehradun accordingly.

Day 01: Dehradun to Pantwari (95kms drive) and 6kms Trek To Campsite

Detailed Itinerary of Nag Tibba Trek

Day 01: Dehradun to Pantwari (95kms drive) and 6kms Trek To Campsite

From Dehradun the trek will start by 8 AM in morning. So plan your journey to Dehradun in such a way that you reach Dehradun by 6 AM in morning. So if at all you are late, then still you can make it. Start early from Dehradun and reach Pantwari via Mussoorie. It will take approx 3-4 hours. The camping ground at Pantwari is green meadow and is home of mint leaves which can be used with tea as energizer or can be cooked as a dish. We experience beautiful and awe inspiring sunrise from base camp. After reaching the base camp, enjoy the evening with a bonfire and enjoy a delicious meal under the clear starry sky. Overnight in tents 


Day 02: Trek from Campsite to Nag Tibba Temple 3Kms and Trek Back to Base Campsite

Start early next day post breakfast and reach to the temple. From there hike to the Nag Tibba ridge. This part of Nag Tibba Trek will take approx. 2-3 hours. The forest become dense and is dominated by oaks and rhododendrons. The forest floor is also damp indicating the lack of sunlight reaching it. The whole route is very scenic and will leave you astonished with the immensely beautiful landscape that covers the whole region. It takes around 3 hours to reach the Nag tibba summit. And then start trek down to Pantwari. Drive from Pantwari to Dehradun. Please note you will reach Dehradun by 9:30 PM in night. Make yoour return arrangement from Dehradun accordingly

Nag tibba weather is something that makes this trek a enjoyable one. In winter you will find snow in trail. Snow starts to diminish from March and from April to October Nag Tibba becomes a classic Himalayan short trek. During night temperature is generally less. Day teperature is pleasant. In winter temperature may drop to -5 degree sometimes. If you see Nag tibba trek reviews then you understand why Nag Tibba is a classic trek. Though it is an easy graded trek but still nag tibba trek guide is needed during trekking as availability of staying option and food in the trail is not available. Dehradun to nag tibba distance is around 100 km including a 90 km drive from Dehradun to Pantwadi and then from Pantwadi to Nag Tibba summit trek

What kind of food will be provided during the trek?

Simple, tasty, vegetarian food will be provided during the trekking. Lunch will be packed lunch and dinner will be freshly cooked

Will you provide packaged drinking water?

No. Packaged drinking water needs to be brought by you if you need. We can arrange normal drinking water which is locally available. We advice you to carry a two liter bottle full while you start the trek

Is camping mandatory for Nag Tibba trekking? Is there any extra permit fee involved?

You will be provided accommodation in tent. The tent will be pitched at plane camping ground. No extra permit fee to be paid for that

Which point is better to start for this trek - Dehradun or Haridwar?

You can start from any of those points. Dehradun to Pantwari distance is lesser than Haridwar to Pantwari

How much does transportation costs? Please tell me about both Dehradun to Pantwari and Haridwar to Pantwari.

If you are a group of 4 or more people then we can arrange  a car for you. Otherwise shared cabs are also available which generally charge 300-500 INR one way per person. You will get such cabs from Haridwar or Dehradun station.

Is there any hidden cost in your Nag Tibba Trek package?

No hidden cost is there. In case you need extra personal service then there can be extra charge. For an example personal porter will cost you approx. 400/- per bag (Not more than 10kgs.)

Toilet pit tents can be provided if the group size is 4 or above depending upon availability.

The Nag Tibba weather will be cold and chilly aat night and the mornings and afternoons will be sunny.Snowfall is expected in the months of November to February.Pleasant weather is expected from June to October.

What is the Nag tibba Trek distance ?


The trek starts from Pantwari to the Nag Tibba campsite which is a 6 km trek.The trek from the Nag Tibba base camp to the Nag Tibba summit is a 3 km trek.All distances are one sided.

At nights during the months of July to November the nights will be pleasant.October to November the temperature may dip and will be chilly at night.During January to March the nights will be very cold and woollen and jackets are advised.

The Nag Tibba Trek

While looking for a trekker’s buff, the Nag Tibba Trek trail is something that strikes our mind. It is comparably an unknown trail located near Mussoorie. Known for its richness in flora amd fauna, it is also gives a serene panorama view of the Doon Valley, the Gangotri group of peaks and the Kedarnath peak in the north. The most suitable season to visit this trail is during winters (December to Feburary) with temperature varying from 10 to 15 degrees during day time and 0 to 5 degrees when the sun sets. This trekker’s delight located in the Garhwal Himalayan ranges, is the highest peak (9,915ft). This place is perfect for those who love to traverse the nature.

 

 The Nag Tibba Trek Villages

1.Devalsari Village: Situated in the Tehri district, tourists initially encamp here for the Nag Tibba Trek. The trail is distanced 13kms from the village. The trek yeilds a placid, tranquil view to the tourists. The trail goes through the thick deodar forest. Trekking further 3kms, one can reach the Nag Tibba Trek.

 2. Pantwari Village: Distanced 50kms from Mussoorie, being one of the most minuscule route to reach The Nag Tibba Trek, the way along this village also provides a picturous view. One will have to take the route towards the Kempty Fall, taking road till Nainbag. Taking a right from Nainbag, you’d reach the Nag Tibba road. The course is little pachy, rough and might require a guide.

 3.  Aunter: This is one traversable, unobstructed pathway to the Nag Tibba Trek passing through the Thatyur village. The track is a bit restraining, but the route is quite straight few slopes.

4.The Goat Village: This village is culturally and traditionally refined, curated and a tranqil haven in the hilly regions of Garhwal. Being the midpoint for the the trek to the trail, this heavenly place also facilitates fun camping. Tourists, travllers wishing to experience the ‘local pahaadi’ life, should consider camping here as it is best suited for the same.

 The Nag Tibba  Trek Difficulty:

Nag Tibba Trek is one of the best weekend treks’. This trek can be completed within 2 days. This trekking trail is the best suited for all the age groups. Even the kids, who wish to begin their journey a mountaineer can consider this trek. It is more or less an unchallenging, easy to middling, moderate trek. Good budget Nag Tibba trek cost program

This was our first trek in Uttarakhand. A bit hectic but very enjoyable. Whole team from start to end was very supportive which made our Nag Tibba trek experience an excellent one. But I think it is better done in 3D2N instead of 2D1N.

Nag Tibba Trek

Well when it comes to trekking most of us take ourselves out from plan, same happened with me where I asked my friends to go here and after 2 weeks all was set however I started getting hard feeling.. Yar.. 23 kms too tough but now i cant take my step backs from here but when we started all such feelings went out from mind and we were all happy when we came down next day, arrangements were good and guys were very decent and happy. Overall I'll rate 4 to the Triphippie and would like to make more trek with them and I'd suggest to all that please go out and take this challenge and do some serious trekking this builds more confidence and Nag Tibba may be a nice trek to start with.
