Meesapulimalai Munnar Trek Highlights

Day 1:

Reach Suryanelly/Munnar and get transferred to the base camp by a 4 wheel drive jeep through the rugged terrains. The off-road experience will bring you to the highest tea growing estate in the world.

Base camp briefing and then start the visit to the tea factory. There will be bonfire and dinner will be served.

Day-2

The camp is situated in the Eastern Slopes and it after the magnificent sunrise we will start our day. After breakfast we will trek to the Meesapulimalai peak. The trek will be moderate to challenging in nature. The trekking in Munnar among the tea fields will be an experience to remember.

The price is for 10 participants in a group

Rock climbing or rappelling can be arranged for a minimum of 10 participants at the Lock Hart Gap on the way to the Suryanelly

PS: Minimum number of people required for the Trek is 10 participants.

For less than 10 participants jeep charges will be extra and can be paid at actuals.

Meesapulimalai Trek Villages

  1.             Kurangani Village: This village serves as the hill station atop the western ghats, accessed from the Bodinayakkanur in Tamil Nadu. This is an unexplored tourist spot. Stationed near the Munnar Hills and the Kolukkumalai Hills, this village has estates growing coconut, mangoes, all spices and coffee. The best months to explore these hills are from August to December. This village’s trail invites nature lovers to trek, walk down the dense woods and plain grasslands. This place is also a home to a wide variety of flora and fauna and beautiful low hanging clouds.
  2.             Vattavada Village: Nestled in the Idukki district, unlike the other villlages of tea plantations, this village is predominant of the vegetables that occupy the terraced slopes of the valley. This scenic hilly tract is a refreshing experience. This village, is a perfect place for an avid traveller to explore many adjoining locations. The local populace of Vattavada are the tribals, their way of life and art culture is of an interest to visitors.
  3.             Kolukkumalai Village: This is a small hamlet in the Theni district of Tamil Nadu. It houses the highest tea plantations in the world with utter taste in it and also giving the food bloggers to think twice about its rich taste. This hill top village is accessesible only by jeep drives making it  more exciting and is an almost 70-80 minutes drive from Munnar. This village provides a spectacular senery of the peaks and swirling clowds below to the visitors. The distant hills slipping in and out of the mist is a captivating sight.
  4.             Munnar: Nestled in the Idukki district, it also is a confluence of three mountain streams- Mudrapuza, Nallathanni and Kundala. An awesome experience ..thanks TripHippie !

We went for an office corporate outing and chose to trek the Messapulimala .The arrangements were superb,the food was just great.Our guide and cook made a great bonfire and camping experience.The trek was very beautiful and all the arrangements were proper and hygienic.Thanks guys!
