About Sandhan Valley:

Sandhan valley is located in Igatpuri region of Nagar district of Maharastra and near to the Ratangad fort. Sandhan valley distance from Mumbai is approximately 180km from Mumbai, from Pune it is around 250km and from nasik Sandhan valley is 90km away. It is one of its kind, a gorge like canyon which will keep you fascinated. The trek starts from Samrad village.

Trip Highlights

Length: Approx. 2 km
Access: From Mumbai to Kasara or Igatpuri by local Train
Grade: Easy to Moderate
Season: Round the year except Monsoon
Brief: We will walk through the valley till the first water pool can be seen and to its immediate left we will be taking the route which will take us to the 120ft mighty rappelling patch. This is an ideal trek to do during summer given the intense heat these days. Throughout the day, the valley provides a pleasant climate for trekkers and hikers (It is called Valley of Shadows for a reason)

Trip Itinerary

Day 0: Catch the CST-Kasara train as per the timings mentioned.
10:50 pm – CST.
10:57 pm – Byculla.
11:05 pm – Dadar.
11:13 pm – Kurla.
11:18 pm – Ghatkopar.
11:34 pm – Thane.
11:57 pm – Dombivali.
12:07 am – Kalyan.
01:18 am – Kasara.

Day 1:
01:30 am – Depart to Samrad by a Private Vehicle
04:00 am – Reach Samrad. Proceed for some rest and breakfast.
07:00 am – Move towards the base exploring Sandhan Valley. Rappel down a few patches. Lunch mid way. (The route few small rappelling patches, the biggest one being 40-50ft approx and we have to go through water upto 4-5ft deep for approximately 30 meters on the way. This only adds to the thrill of the whole exploration.)
05:30 pm – Reach the base.
Settle at the base followed by talks, food and campfire.
End the day by a natural swimming pool under the open sky.

Day 2:
06:30 am – Wake Up Call. Breakfast at the base.
08:00 am – Start trekking towards Dehene.
11:00 am – Reach Dehne. Lunch in Dehene.
02:00 pm – Move towards Asangaon.
04:00 pm – Reach Asangaon Station.
07:00 pm – Reach Dadar (Tentative).

Trip Requirements

The following Sleeping Bag & Tent at extra cost.
Tent Per Person : 150 /-
Rent of 1 Sleeping Bag : Rs. 300/- (Subject to availability.)
The night is going to be cold so do come prepared if not renting a sleeping bag. We suggest a yoga mat and something to cover yourself should be good enough.

Cancellation Policy

For Cancellation, If you inform us,

  • 5+ days prior to any event – 20% of the total event costs would be deducted and rest would be refunded.
  • 4 days prior to any event – 30% of the total event costs would be deducted and rest would be refunded.
  • 3 days prior to any event – 50% of the total event costs would be deducted and rest would be refunded.
  • No refund would be provided before 2 days of the event.

Curator may change these policies anytime without prior notification.
