Climate: In summer the night time temperature on top altitudes regions will variety between zero to -5 and in winter it'll range between -5 to -20 degree centigrade. In lower altitudes it will be 25 to 10 degree in summer and 5 to -5 degree centigrade in winter.
The trek starts from lowers Himalayas. The zone is full of numerous waterfalls, lush green forests and table top villages. With the increased altitude, the vegetation gradually changes to Alpine forest. During this trek you get to see 3 peaks which are more than 8000 meters high and numbers of other peaks which are more than 6000 meters high. The best part of the trek is to pass via many Tibetan villages.
ABC trek or Annapurna Base Camp trek starts from Pokhara village. From Pokhara drive to Nayapul village and start your trek to Thikedunga. Thikedunga is a small sleepy Himalayan village. The trail in coming days will pass through Ghorepani, Pun Hill (3,200 meters), Tadapani (2,647 meters), Chhomroong (2,100 meters), Dovan, Deurali (3,300 meters), Mount Machhapuchchhre Base Camp (3,700 meters), Annapurna Base Camp(4,200m), Bamboo(2,335 meters) and Jhinu Danda (1,600 meters).
Day 1 : Arrive at Kathmandu
Upon arrival meet with the representative. The transfer you to the hotel and issue your permit. Take rest in the afternoon. Visit Thamel street which is a happenning place with lots of casinos, restaurants, pubs and shops where you can buy required gears for your trek
Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara
Start your Bus drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu in the morning. The route goes alongside Trishuli river and the scenic beauty is awesome. Kathmandu to Pokhara distance is 200 km and it takes around 6 - 7 hours by Bus. Upon reaching Pokhara, check into hotel and rest for the day.
Day 3: Pokhara to Nayapul drive ( 1 - 2 hours) and trek to Thikedunga (1552 meters, 4 -5 hours)
Reach Nayapul from Pokhara by 1 - 2 hours of driving and then start your trek to Thikedunga village. Thikedunga is a beautiful Tibetan village and has basic accommodation facilities where you can resat for the day;
Day 4: Thikedunga to Ghorepani trek (2800 meters, 6-7 hours)
Today's route will be Thikedunga - Ulleri - Banthanti - Nangethanti - Ghorepani. Thikedunga to Ulleri tral is quite steep and strenuous and then the trail is relatively easy. From Ghorepani you will get magnificent view of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Annapurna 1 and other peaks.
Day 5: Ghorepani to Pun hill and Trek to Tadapani 2647 meters , 6 - 7 hours of trek)
Today early morning we hike to pun hill for its incredible view. Pun hill is a well-known view point for great mountain peaks in Annapurna and Dhaulagiri areas. One can see staggering ranges of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna south, Tukuche, Manaslu, Machhapuchchhre (fishtail), and so many others mountain peaks from pun hill. After the pun hill hike we are able to go back to Ghorepani and begin our trek to Tadapani via rhododendron wooded trail. We then trek to Deurali and stop over for lunch at Banthanti. After the lunch, we will resume the trek to tadapani. You will get fantastic views of Annapurna ranges together with the Annapurna south, Huinchuli and Machhapuchhre.
Day 6: Tadapani to Chhomrong ( 2177 meters, 6 - 7 hours of trekking)
Start your trek downhill to the valley and reach a stream. You have to cross the stream by a suspension bridge over it. Then trek through spectacular terraced fields and green mountains and reach to the Gurjung village. Have our lunch at Gurjung. After the lunch start the last part of the day's trek. It is one more up-hill trek and a downhill to reach the village of Chhomrong. Chhomrong is a fantastic village with a splendid view of Annapurna.
Day 7: Chhomrong to Dovan (2600 meters, 5 - 7 hours of trek)
Trek down to chhomrong khola (river) and go it on a suspension bridge. After that we will take an up-hill trek through the woodland and go a small settlement enroute. We will keep trekking on the same path up to Sinuwa. After Sinuwa, we get some other up-hill trek and move a small wooded area. You will spot many small monkeys in this forest. we will be able to get down through steps made of bamboo and after a brief walk we can reach our vacation spot Dovan.
Day 8: Trek from Dovan to Deurali (3300 meters, 5 - 6 hours)
Start today’s trek through bamboo forests and then the journey goes amidst valleys, rivers and alpine Himalayan meadows. Today you first reach to the high altitude zone. Deurali is situated at the foothill of Modi Himal and Mount Machhapuchhre.
Day 9: Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp trek (4200 meters, 5 - 6 meters)
Today you will begin early and cross Machhapuchhre base camp after which you reach the Annapurna base camp. After Deurali we are able to trek on a river bed and then take a steep trail. The trail to Machhapuchhre base camp is strenuous and is avalanche prone, so cross this place as quick as possible. From Machhapuchhre base camp we are able to see a first-class view of mount Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli, Annapurna south, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gandharvachuli and Gangapurna. The route will become wider after Machhapuchhre base camp and the trek will be best from here till up to Annapurna base camp. After you reach at the base camp, you could see a extremely good sight of the nature. There are amazing views of a number of the world’s highest peaks which include Annapurna I 8091 meters, Annapurna south 7219 Meters, Machhapuchhre (Mount fishtail) 6997 meters and several other enormous peaks.
Day 10: Trek from Annapurna Base to Bamboo
Wake up, enjoy a spectacular sunrise in Annapurna and after breakfast start your trek back to Bamboo. The trail is mostly downhill so be extra cautious of slipperiness of the rout
Day 11: Trek from Bamboo to Jhinu Danda
You will maintain your trek on the identical path what you took to hike Chhomrong. You are able to see Chhomrong from the pinnacle of the Trail. The path will be downhill with many steps to the chhomrong river. After this, the path will go via rice fields and meets the primary path. We want to climb many stone steps before accomplishing Jhinu Danda. After reaching Jhinu Danda you can to go to the hot spring and relax yourself.
Day 12: Trek from Jhinu Danda to Nayapul and then drive back to Pokhara
You trek back to Nayapul today. Follow the Modi river for most of the time in this path. The trail goes through terrace fields and forests. After reaching Sauli bazaar the trail will become flat as much as Nayapul. After reaching nayapul you drive back to Pokhara and check in to hotel
Day 13: From Pokhara drive back to Kathmandu
Take your bus from Pokhara to Kathmandu and upon arrival at Kathmandu check in to the hotel
Day 14: Departure from Kathmandu
Today you depart from Kathmandu and the trek ends here.
