Day 01: Arrive Leh (3505 meters / 11567 feet)
You will be welcomed and picked up from Leh airport by our representative and taken to hotel, where we will treat you with complimentary tea and cookies. Acclimatize with high altitude. Visit Leh palace & Shanti stupa. Shanti stupas are white domed stupas in Chanspa at Leh. It was a part of the peace pagoda mission and built by a Buddhist bhikshu, Gyomyo Nakamura.
You may also go to Leh market because you may not get time later to visit the market. Leh market is a goldmine for semi precious stones, tribal jewellery, organic products, pearls and locally made handicrafts. Stroll around the market to know about the local lifestyle and their traditions, customs.
Day 02 : Leh – Uleytokpo/Alchi (75 Km)
Today you will visit Kali mata temple, Hall of fame and Gurudwara Patthar Sahib. Apart from sight-seeing today you visit to Zanskar-Indus confluence en-route Uleytokpo. Located at 35 km distance from Leh the whole stretch of the route is unbelievably serene. The scenic beauty will put not stop to surprise you with every turn of the road. Through this road you reach to the confluence. The vastness and the mesmerizing view of the confluence will surely left any mortal speechless. Then you go forward to Alchi while still reminiscing about the confluence. Night stay will be at Hotel/camp in Alchi.
Day 03: Uleytokpo/Alchi to Leh (75 km)
Visit Lamayuru monastery. It is the oldest monastery of Ladakh. Explore the tranquil, peace and rich culture that it has been carefully nurturing for last 10 centuries. The route of Lamayuru is stunning as landscape is like lunar surface. It is the place on earth where you will feel yourself with an out of world feeling. With an unmatched terrain, it is an unique surface that will make you spellbound again and again.
Day 04: Leh to Nubra (135 Km / 5-6 hrs)
Today you will visit Nubra via Khardung La and cover Hunder & Diskit villages on the way and if possible a camel safari. Diskit is capital of Nubra region. Nubra is a cold desert valley at an altitude of 10000 ft and lies at the junction of Shyok river (a tributary of Indus) and Siachen river. Siachen glacier lies at the north and famous Karakoram pass of silk route fame lies at northwest of the valley. Night camping at Nubra is a lifetime experience of star gazing as it gives you a unique blend of wilderness and serenity. It is like camping in the most exotic natural location on the Earth.
Day 05 : Nubra Valley and back to Leh
Enjoy the breathtaking view of Nubra in morning. Nubra is all about view. Pass your time as much as possible at Nubra today. Return to Leh via Khardungla.
Day 06 : Leh to Pangong Lake via Shey & Thksey (160 Km)
Start as early as possible. Visit Shey Palace & Thiksey Monastery. The Thiksey Monastery is situated at a distance of approximately 18 km from the town of Leh. One of the most beautiful monasteries of Ladakh, it belongs to the Gelukpa Order of Buddhism. Sherab Zangpo of Stod got the Thiksey Monastery built for the first time, at Stakmo. However, later Spon Paldan Sherab, the nephew of Sherab Zangpo, reconstructed the monastery in the year 1430 AD. The new monastery was situated on a hilltop, to the north of Indus River. It has a 15 meter high statue of the Maitreya Budhha, the largest such statue in Ladakh. Go to Pangong Lake through Chang la. It will take 6-7 hours. Pangong lake is masterclass in its own self. Such is the beauty of this placid lake. Night camping will be by Pangong lake.
Day 07 : Pangong Lake to Leh via Hemis
Early morning sunrise at Pangong lake. Hemis is a biosphere of global importance but inlands are not accessible by road. So, restrict yourself to the Hemis Monstery, which is the wealthiest & largest Monastery in Ladakh. Enjoy the tranquil there. Don’t forget to have a cup of warm tea at Chang La when you head for Hemis. Should reach Leh by afternoon so that you can go for shopping to Leh market.
Day 08 : Departure
Depart Hotel for airport to catch the return flight to Delhi. Your beautiful sojourn ends here.
